Both Albertson’s and Brookshire’s serve as Community Partners designated by the Tarrant Area Food Bank to donate food and other items to the Community Caring Center. In addition, they conduct a monetary donation drive at the end of each year.
At the checkout registers of these local grocery stores, customers are often asked if they would like to contribute to feeding hungry families in the community or if they wish to donate to a local food pantry. All donations collected directly support CCC!
- Albertson’s runs a program called Nourishing Neighbors, which requests that their gift cards be distributed directly to clients. During the check-in process before the Christmas break, 240 $25 gift cards were provided to clients. During the month of January, this program resulted in our food pantry receiving 3,044 pounds of soup to be distributed to hungry families in our community.
- Brookshire’s hosts The Spirit of Christmas Food Drive, where gift cards are given to CCC for purchasing food from their store for our pantry. This year, they successfully raised $2,205.44 to help maintain our food inventory!
These generous initiatives from Albertson’s and Brookshire’s exemplify a strong commitment to community welfare.
