Heather Wesolowski

President

Heather Wesolowski is a passionate counselor and committed board member of the Community Caring Center. Her dedication to mental health, child advocacy, and community support drives her mission to make a lasting impact in the Azle community.

Originally from Oklahoma, Heather and her husband chose to make Azle their home after falling in love with its small-town feel and slower pace of life. The community reminded Heather of her roots, and the couple wanted a tight-knit environment and a smaller school district to raise their two children. They’ve now built a life in Azle, where Heather continues to serve families both personally and professionally.

Heather began her career in education as a teacher, then moved into counseling roles in elementary and high schools before opening her private practice, Homegrown Counseling, in Azle. There, she specializes in working with children and families, offering firsthand insight into how food insecurity disrupts development, learning, and long-term mental and physical health.

Her experience organizing school backpack programs to send food home with students revealed just how critical consistent nutrition is for a child’s growth and stability. She believes that children are our most valuable resource, and protecting their well-being begins with ensuring that no child goes hungry.

Her long-term vision includes broadening the Center’s services to include not only food but also mental health support and access to vital benefit programs. She’s especially passionate about securing grant funding to provide counseling to families on Medicaid or Medicare, thereby helping to fill a critical gap in local care.

Heather encourages others to get involved with the Community Caring Center, emphasizing how even small acts of service can create a ripple effect of positive change. Whether volunteering time, skills, or resources, she believes everyone has the power to protect and uplift the next generation.

For Heather, serving the community isn’t just a role—it’s a calling. Her goal is clear: to build a stronger, more compassionate Azle where children thrive, families are supported, and no neighbor is left behind.
